Venetian marionettes through history and tradition
Private visit to the workshop to discover handicraft creations that bear witness to ancient traditions
The ancient art of puppetry lives on in Venice in a craft workshop in Santa Fosca, in the heart of Cannaregio. For over 27 years, articulate characters with colourful clothes and stories have been created here. Visit the workshop and be enchanted by the dreamlike atmosphere inside on the first floor of a 17th century Venetian palace. Learn more about production techniques, watch wooden bodies being moulded and admire the making of clothes designed and sewn in the workshop itself. A tour to experience a timeless activity of extraordinary charm.
