Milan's architecture between past and future
Guided tour to discover the two faces of the Milanese metropolis: from skyscrapers to historic terraced houses
“Architecture is a crystal. Love architecture with its abstract, illusive and figurative forms that enchant and captivate our thoughts.” So wrote Gio Ponti, one of the most famous Milanese architects and creator of the inimitable Pirellone. Milan is full of architectural treasures to be discovered by walking, in the name of tradition and the future. Admire the futuristic buildings of Porta Garibaldi, where the “spire” of the Unicredit Palace by César Pelli stands out, in the setting of Piazza Gae Aulenti. Not too far away, observe the architecture of the 60s, from the tenement houses with their internal courtyards, to the buildings in neoclassical, liberty or floral style. Continue to discover the hanging gardens of the Bosco Verticale by Stefano Boeri, awarded in 2014 as the most beautiful skyscraper in the world. End with lunch in a typical restaurant, letting yourself be inebriated by the scent of saffron risotto. An open-air tour to learn about the history and evolution of the most glamorous city in Italy.
