Discovering Luogosanto between religion and history
Guided excursion in the sacred village of Sardinia
A sacred village in the heart of Gallura: Luogosanto is an area rich in tradition and religious history, ideal for learning more about Sardinian customs handed down from family to family, such as processions, commemorations and patronal celebrations. Together with an expert guide, immerse yourself in the village to discover its 22 sanctuaries, hermitages, castles and churches. Visit the Basilica of Our Lady, built in 1218, famous for the Holy Door, opened like St. Peter's every seven years to offer plenary indulgence to pilgrims. Move into the surrounding countryside to visit other sacred buildings and the ruins of the 11th century medieval palace of Baldu. Then treat yourself to a well-deserved break dedicated to oenology, thanks to a visit to a local winery producing Vermentino di Gallura, the only wine with a DOCG label in the whole of Sardinia. An experience to come into contact with the spirituality and mysticism of the region, immersed in its beauty.
